The Legacy of Baylor 2012 Continues . . .

UPDATE: February 9, 2006: news reports today indicate that the number of applications for this year has risen even higher, from 18,400 to 20,500 and counting! See the updated number below. Baylor will continue accepting applications through March 1.

As a follow-up to our most popular posting from last year (Baylor’s Stunning Success Shows We Have Found A Unique Niche), we, the students, are pleased to relay recent news which reports that the number of freshman applications has made yet another stellar jump this year.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reported on Wednesday that the number of freshman applications for the current year total more than 18,400! That is 2,000 more than the administration's stated goal. This jump is a continuation of the meteoric rise that Baylor has seen since the inception of Vision 2012 in 2002. Following are the freshman application totals, organized by year:

  • 2002 -- 7,431
  • 2003 -- 8,968
  • 2004 -- 10,971
  • 2005 -- 15,485
  • 2006 -- 20,500+

As we maintain, the Vision of fostering academic excellence and serious Christian commitment has been absolutely key to Baylor's stunning successes over the past four years. Again, we should know, for we are the very students whom these statistics describe!
